Cannot initialize license manager: ADLM: Startup Failed on Autodesk Simulation CFD 2013

Our of our technicans spent 3 hours of blood, sweat and tears on this interesting issue.

• Autodesk Simulation CFD 2012 was installed in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\  > OK
• Autodesk Simulation CFD 2013 was installed on D:\Program Files\Autodesk\ > Not OK

The errror message was:

Cannot initialize license manager:  ADLM: Startup Failed

We then tried to copy Common Files to the D:\ drive, even a potential uninstall and reinstall on the C:\ drive did not resolve the issue.

It this scenario, the user's computer was configured as en-CA and to resolve the issue we needed to change the Locale to en-US.

• [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Simulation CFD\13.0] 
• Locale=en-US

Autodesk CFD 2013 supports English (US), French, German, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Japanese.
