AutoCAD Educational Plot Stamp Removal

Way back, the Educational version of AutoCAD would add a EDU plot stamp to ensure that the EULA was followed.  Back then, there was no way to remove it.

Where is Revit 2015 in the Building Design Suite Premium 2015?

Here is an interesting problem, we recently got this into Product Support:

BDSP-32-bit

Where is Revit 2015?  It is not in the list because the installation is on a 32 bit operating system.  The system requirements for Revit and the Building Design Suite Premium are noted below:

Revit 2015

It is similar to this issue with Revit 2015 not installing on Windows 7.  Please review the blog post below for more details:

Autodesk Network Licensing: FlexNet Licensing error: -15,570

-15 error

FlexNet Licensing error:-15,570

In this case, I created 2 services for Autodesk products. The license files are correct but I created 2 services for each product.

-15 lmtools

All you have to do is just combine the licenses into 1 file and use only 1 service.

Autodesk Network Licensing: FlexNet Licensing error: -97,121

-97 Error

When configuring the Autodesk Network License Manager and you get this error:

FlexNet Licensing error: -97,121

The first thing I do is check out our Knowledge Article here:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Common-FlexNet-error-codes.html

-97 akn

This error basically means that the the software and license are not working.  The easiest thing to do is to look at the log file to find out what is causing the error.  To get to the log file, go to the Config Services tab and click on View Log or look for the file in the path.

-97 log

1.  In the log file, the error is below and the problem is that license has expired.

9:02:32 (adskflex) EXPIRED: 65300ARCHDESK_F

One such type that will expire are typically previous use licenses.  Please check out the blog post here for more info on it:

http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2014/01/previous-use-license-request-running-software-that-is-more-than-3-versions-back.html

2. In another log file example, the error is:

9:22:06 (adskflex) Invalid license key (inconsistent authentication code)

In some instances, if you are moving a license from one server to another server, you may want to save time by editing the ethernet address in the license file.  This will not work.  You must generate a NEW license file for the new server. The MAC address listed at the top of Autodesk license files are encrypted into each product increment and cannot be manually edited without invalidating the license file.

We recently got this error when installing Maya 2015:

Maya Bifrost Source File Not Found

The basics of creating an options file for your license server

One of the coolest tools that Autodesk offers that is 'free' is Screencast.  In this video demo, I have created the 'basic' options file and I am testing it with Revit 2015.

https://screencast.autodesk.com/Main/Details/18a3162e-3885-4640-93eb-23294a309395

Borrow-Calendar

The settings for the 3 line items in the Config Services Tab for the Autodesk Network license Manager is:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\lmgrd.exe

C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\BDSU-2015.lic

C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\BDSU-2015.log

The Options file is called:  adskflex.opt and has the following in it:

MAX_BORROW_HOURS 86238BDSPRM_2015_0F 144

IMPORTANT:   If you change a parameter in the options file, you need to Stop & Start the server via the Stop/Start/Reread tab.
