In this case, a bit of luck was needed to find out the solution.  Please check it out here:

License Manager 11.12 and The Foundry License Tools

We are receiving few cases where customers have problems running our 2015 network versions and The Foundry software (e.g. Nuke).
If you have installed License Manager 11.12 for the 2015 products (e.g. Maya) on a server that is already hosting the license server for The Foundry products, you may also experience these issues.
The Foundry products currently use a different version of the License Manager (10.8). In some cases, launching both services prevents one of them to run correctly and therefore licenses for that services are not available.

The cause we identified in collaboration with The Foundry Support Team (thanks Jake) is likely because both services use by default the same TCP port that is 27000.
This can generate a conflict and results in one of the services to shut down or not start at all.

It is possible to avoid or prevent this to happen simply changing the default port used by one of the services. You can do this adding the port to the first line of the license file:

SERVER <SERVER_HOSTNAME> <ETHERNET ADDRESS> <PORT>

Example:
SERVER MyServer 000000000000 27001

Note: if on any clients you are using pointers to specify the license server, you may need to also change or add the port there.

AutoCAD 2015: how to change license type from Standalone to Network.

1. Open you system registry editor (Go to Start > Search > type regedit and hit Enter key)

2. Locate the key below and change Type value to 1 (please refer to the screenshot)
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R20.0\ACAD-E001\AdLM

ACAD_2015_licenseChange

3. Create client license file, LICPATH.lic file, in Notepad.
  e.g.

  SERVER yourServerNemeHere 000000000000
  USE_SERVER

Note: change yourServerNemeHere to your actual network license server name.

4. Place LICPATH.lic file in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\ folder

Note: Please make sure that your LICPATH.lic file doesn't have hidden .txt extension.

Tip: Show Hide file name extensions

5. Start AutoACAD 2015

Mac OS 10.8.x Server + Mac Mini + EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 34 Exit reason 2

If you are setting up a license server on the Mac, you may encounter the following error:

Mini-hostid-mac-issue

No valid hostids, exiting
EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 34 Exit reason 2
adskflex exited with status 34 (Invalid host).

What made this cas interesting is that the system was a Mac Mini running Mac OS 10.8.x with a Server "Add-in" so in the About Dialog box, it will just state that the computer is running Mac OS 10.8 but in reality it is a Mac OS X Server.

Mac-mini-server-2

Mac-mini-server-1

To solve this problem, you will need to generate your license based off your Wi-Fi (formerly AirPort) card even if you are not using it.

Wi-Fi > Advanced > Hardware > Ethernet Address

Mini-wi-fi

Thanks to Fred Levy for confirming this workaround solved the problem.

Autodesk Licensing Error with Autodesk Fabrication CADmep 2013

You have an AutoCAD 2013 vertical products as network and want to run it in conjunction with Autodesk Fabrication CADmep 2013 standalone, this configuration will cause an Autodesk Licensing Error.

Cad-mep-error

CADmep standalone licenses can be used when AutoCAD has been licensed using a stand-alone or to retain the network license's conveniences of AutoCAD vertical product, you can request Autodesk Fabrication CADmep license to be converted from standalone to network license.

Having both software as whether “Standalone” or “Network” version will solve the license error issue.

Thanks to Nicholas Hyland for this alternative.

Network License: RSA 2013 to RSA 2014 Pro

Since April 2013 Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis is no longer available and starting from release 2014 customers can only purchase or upgrade to Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional 2014.
Customers already owning Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis 2013 will be automatically upgraded to Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional 2014.
For the network installations under subscription, as usual once upgraded, you will need to get a new license file. The new license file will be valid for the current and prior 3 version of the product but, this concerns the Professional versions only.
In fact, if you previously had an Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis 2013 network license, you will not be able to get a license from the new file.
You have to request a combined file that integrates both the 2014 Professional and the 2013 (http://www.autodesk.com/licensesupport).
Note: combining the files that you own won’t work as they have different issue dates.

If you upgraded from Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis 2013 Professional version everything is fine with the new license file.

Epilogue:
We are currently attempting to request the license file to either be amended or to have the 2013 (not Professional) to be added to it.

Please verify that license server name is correct in LICPATH.LIC.  Please note that if there is DNS name resolution issue with your license server name, you can use your license server IP address instead of the server computer name in LICAPTH.lic.

LICPATH.LIC is the client license file and typically can be found in the program installation folder, let's take AutoCAD 2013 and Autodesk Maya 2013 for example.

AutoCAD 2013 its path is “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\LICPATH.LIC”

Autodesk Maya 2013 its path based on the supported oparating system is:

On Windows: “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\LICPATH.LIC”
On Mac:  /var/flexlm/maya.lic
On Linux: /var/flexlm/maya.lic

Please note that you can open LICPATH.LIC in Notepad (on a Mac or Linux use your plane Text Editor) and if needed modify/correct the license server name.

Here is the sample content of LICPATH.LIC file
