We like to thank everyone in the community that visits our site, everyone on the Product Support Team that helped with a post, Autodesk Management that sponsored our vision, the Development & the Quality Assurance Teams that gave us deep insights on the Install & Licensing Framework.
Please boldly install, configure & deploy Autodesk software to boldly go where no man [or woman] has gone before.
The Up and Ready Blog Team
It will take a monumental effort to be Up and Ready for Autodesk University. I will be joining an elite group of Event Technology Experts to help setup and prepare hundreds computers this week.
I used to support Maya back in the day and the orientation of the software is Y up. For some of our other software packages, the orientation is Z up. During my morning coffee run, the conversation came up with with one of our Maya Developers [Julia P.] and she told me why and it totally makes sense....
If you are an Artist, the image will be on an easel, therefore, Y is up.
If you are an Engineer/Architect, you are working on a drafting table so Z is up.
Here are some screen captures of our software packages and their X,Y,Z orientation.
Personally, I haven't had a lot of Blue Screen of Death [BSOD] on Windows. In fact, it is a rarity on Windows if your system is protected with the latest Anti-Virus software, moderate UAC controls, and Malware removal software is used.
During my last Webinar, I actually had a BSOD during a presentation. It reminded me of this live presentation with Bill Gates.
This was the first time a BSOD happened in any of our Webinars so it is something we will add to the Webinar process so that we can recover quickly. For those who attended, I appreciate your understanding.
Uninstalling Search Protect will solve your AutoCAD Application Error (0xc0000142) & (0xc000000c5) but you also may have Malware installed on your computer, please check out the following blog post to remove them courtesy of our technical guru: David Dembkoski.
