General Systems: What the UTF-8/16?

I learned something new today...

The following html file doesn't view properly in Firefox but it does works in Internet Explorer and Chrome.

"I've finally cracked it. Firefox: View > Character Encoding > Unicode (UTF-16)
Now it works. I guess this should be in the header of the HTML file."
