Here is the same -97,121 error but this time, it was on a highend server. It was configured with a 4 port HP NC382i Integrated Dual Port PCI Express Gigabit Server Adapter.
This was the result of an ipconfig -all on the server:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 4:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual Network Switch Adapter #4
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-55-4C-XX-XX
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 3:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual Network Switch Adapter #3
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-55-4C-XX-XX
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual Network Switch Adapter #2
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-55-4C-XX-XX
Ethernet adapter Lan 1:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : HP NC382i DP Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapter #51
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-26-55-4C-XX-XX
This was the result checking the status of the lmtools.exe, right after a reboot of the license server.
The interesting behaviour is that it worked when you initially started the license server. When the system rebooted, the server would stop and the error in the log file would be:
12:18:29 (adskflex) SERVER line says 0026554cXXXX, hostid is ffffffff
You would need to Start the license server in lmtools and it would be working as expected.
The solution is below:
"...[because] the software complained about a wrong ID when the server restarted, but not when I manually ReRead the license file, I thought maybe the Autodesk service started too soon. So I changed the Startup to Automatic (Delayed) and it actually....worked!" Axel H. Isegg
Thanks to Arne Ørberg and Axel H. Isegg for this awesome tip.
