With the introduction of the Product Suites in 2012, if you plan to run a 2011 or a 2010 product, which product key would you use?
I am going to provide 2 examples to shed some insight on the solution:
If you have the Product Design Suite 2012 on Subscription, you will be able to run the older products.
1. Download the 2011/2010 from the Subscription Center. The 2009 product doesn't require a Product Key.
2. Extract the downloaded file and note the Product Key.
3. Install the software using the 2012 serial number but use the product key noted in step #2.
If you are using a Multiflex license:
1. You can use the Multiflex Product Key [535D1] for any of the 2012 products.
2 . Download the 2011/2010 from the Subscription Center. The 2009 product doesn't require a Product Key.
3. Extract the downloaded file and note the Product Key.
4. Install the software using the 2012 serial number but use the product key noted in step #3.
Reference
For a Standalone license you would need to request a previous version serial number.
For a Network license it doesn't really matter what serial number you use I believe :)
Might be useful to reference TS16961119 as well.
