When you have installed Maya and Turtle from a Maya Creation Suite 2013, you will get this error when opening the Attribute Editor:

The Attribute Editor will be blank and have no buttons or sliders in it. The solution is to download and install the fix via this post:

If you are using Mac OS 10.8 [Mountain Lion], you will encounter this additional error:
You need to basically disable Gatekeeper to allow the installation of this patch to go through. Please check out this blog post for details on this new Mac OS X feature:
Epilogue
If you have tried the hotfix and you are getting the same error, you will need to delete the old Turtle plug-in before installing the hotfix.
