Using Time Machine can potentially break licensing for any Autodesk product if you are running it in Standalone mode.
The problem is that Time Machine has backed up and restored a licensing data file that is not correct. The only solution is delete the licensing folders in order to force it to re-register the product. The instructions are below:
1. Uninstall all your Autodesk Products. If you have Maya, please review this post:
2. Rename the following folder from FLEXnet Publisher to FLEXnet Publisher-OLD. This folder is located in: /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher. Please note that Adobe .data files will be there as well. Once you have reinstalled and re-activated your Autodesk product, you will need to move the Adobe .data files back into the /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet folder.
NOTE: Adobe_###_tsf.data & Adobe_###_event.log files
3. You will also need to rename the following folder from ADLM to ADLM-old. This folder is located in: /Library/Application Support/Autodesk.
4. Reinstall and activate your Autodesk products. In some instances, you many need to manually activate your software, please check out this post for details:
5. Once, you have activated your software, move the Adobe .data files back into the /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet folder.
6. Turn Time Machine On and add exclude that folder from backups.
I have included a video adding exceptions to Time machine below:
