Simulation CFD 2013-2015: What license modules do we need?

For Simulation CFD we need different license modules in order to have the full license. The most important is the license for the User Interface, which is called Autodesk Simulation CFD Design Study Environment. To solve a simulation we need a module for the Solver. There are 3 Solver license levels
Autodesk Simulation CFD (Basic module), Autodesk Simulation CFD Advanced
(Advanced Module) and Autodesk Simulation CFD Motion (Motion module). Only one Solver module is required, per seat.

To be able to interact with CAD and bring geometry in to Simulation CFD we need another module for the CAD connection. Currently, in version 2013, some modules are included within the Design Study Environment, while others require a separate module.

The grouping stands as per shown below:

The minimum serial numbers (or modules) required is 1 Design Study Environment, and 1 Solver License. So, Simulation CFD will ALWAYS need multiple modules to run.

Activating the licenses

For activating the licenses, the user needs to go to the Registration and Activation site, located in http://registeronce.autodesk.com

For logging in, the user needs to use his credentials for Autodesk, the same ones as to log in to the Subscription Centre.

Only the users with License Administrator privileges are able to do this. By default the Contract Manager will be designated as the License Administrator.

are the same for 2013.

Important comments:

• The licenses need to be generated separately for each module, but when getting the licenses together, copy everything apart from the header. Copy the paragraph that start with INCREMENT, and also the paragraphs that start with PACKAGE (See How to combine license files for multiple Autodesk products http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=8057761&linkID=9240617)
• The licenses that have been upgraded from older versions will be able to work with older versions ON THEIR OWN, meaning; we do not need to plug into it a 2012 license as well as the 2013 one.
• It is highly recommended to issue all the licenses for all the modules of Simulation CFD within the same day to avoid having parallel increments being treated as one. It is always good practice to
  do this.
