For customers that had a Revit Architecure Suite on an active contract on December 14, 2012, Autodesk gave you a *free upgrade to the Building Design Suite 2013.
One issue that was reported into Product Support is how it affects Suite licensing. In theory, if you are going to run AutoCAD 2012 & Revit Architecture 2012 at the same time, it should only use 1 license of the Building Design Suite 2013 license. In reality, it will use up 2 licenses!
I actually installed AutoCAD 2012 and Revit Archecture 2012 on the same computer. I then, generated one Building Design Suite 2013 license and when I launched the second product and there was a -4 error which means that there is not enough licenses available on the license server.
The workaround is to basically keep the Revit Architecture Suite 2013 license as well as the Building Design Suite 2013 license on the license server.
A really good example & reference post on previous usage is below:
Thanks to Brian Parish for confirm that this solution worked.
This page is very informative and fun to read. I appreciated what you have done here. I enjoyed every little bit part of it.
