Below is a general Autodesk Product installation workflow:
- Logon as an Administrator.
- Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter.
Note: If your product installation fails and you decide to open a Support Request with Autodesk Product Support, we would need to review install logs created in your TEMP folder during this product installation attempt. - Disable your Antivirus software.
- Disable UAC: Windows 7 and Windows 8
- Install your product locally on your system from the installation media, browser download from Autodesk website or from your product deployment image.

Our IT Dept. is generally opposed to an admin login. However, they claim that every user is the administrator on their local machine. Is local admin sufficient? Does it help and is it possible to do a "run as administrator" on the install program? If not, is there somewhere I can get a detailed explaination of why? I'd like some facts to back up the argument for a full admin login, if it's truly required.

A local system administrator rights are sufficient to install Autodesk software successfully.
