As some of you know, we have recently added Storm and Sanitary Analysis to Map 3D 2014 via a download in the Subscription Center which is great, but how do you add it to a deployment for installation?
1. Create a deployment for the Suite and goto the option to Include additional software and expand it.
2. You can browse and select the MSI for the SSA standalone and add it on to the deployment and it seems to take it. The problem is the deployment only copies in the install MSI file into the ADDINS folder. i.e. \Img\ADDONS\ADDON_SSA STAND-ALONE 2014 X86_0.
3. The problem is that installer has associated cab files that it needs to run. You can see them in the extracted installer downloaded from Subscription Center. In order for the deployment to be able to successfully install the SSA addon you will need to manually copy in all the CAB files from the downloaded install folder into the folder in the deployment. i.e. \Img\ADDONS\ADDON_SSA STAND-ALONE 2014 X86_0.
Thanks to Jeff Asbury for sharing this workaround with the community!
