We have been receiving some cases into Product Support on this issue and we have seen this happen on laptops with nVidia GeForce GT540M & nVidia GeForce GT550M cards with the integrated Intel (R) HD Graphics. When you try to activate the program, it will freeze and an "Autodesk component has stopped working" error box will come up. You will need to use the Task Manager to exit of the program.
Workaround:
1. Right click on the Autodesk product shortcut i.e. AutoCAD Civil 3D on Desktop.
2. Select Properties > Run with Graphics processor.
3. You will have two options: High-performance NVIDIA processor (default) Integrated graphics
4. Select Integrated graphics and proceed with the Program Activation.
Please note that the noted video cards above are not certified to run AutoCAD so please beware of any graphics limitations that you may encounter when running it.
