As most of you know, when you try to repair/update Autodesk software by using the Control Panel, at some point, the computer will ask for the install media. For example, the default location for installing our software is in the C:\Autodesk folder if you used the Download Now or Browser Download methods.
In this case, this folder may have been one of the things you deleted to save drive space. When you try to install an update of our software, it will also look for the media in the C:\Autodesk folder as well.
For example, the Building Design Suite is over 50 GB and that is a lot drive space and if you have 100 computers to work on, that is a lot of data to copy around the network.
If you are updating Revit 2014 UR1, here is the workaround scenario:
1. Extract the Building Design Suite 2014 on a network share folder.
2. Map the extracted software location to a drive. i.e. X:\Autodesk
3. Run the update and when the software is looking for the missing msi file, re-direct it to the X:\ Drive.
