To change licensing method for Inventor Professional 2014 you need to edit the following registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion18.0
Change values for the Value keys below:
LicenseType from Network License change to Stand-Alone License
LicenseMode from 1 change to 2
NOTE: Always backup the Registry and/or make a note of the values!

So is this type of reg hack now available again for AutoCAD users who forgot to borrow a network license on their laptop before leaving the office and have no access to the internet for VPN, and needs a full-working copy of AutoCAD prehaps in 'trail' mode?

If users have never used ACAD in a trial mode or in a standalone mode before on their systems, this type of hack can let them use ACAD in trial mode for a month.
