I just broke autodesk maya 2011. now I've gotta figure a way to downgrade my system. Oh No!!!

It is not easy to revert back. It will require a least a backup (Time Machine).

Mental Ray for Maya 2013 crashes when you batch render (rendering in the render window works fine) on any system with Mavericks.

Thanks Evan for sharing your info with community.

Whenever you batch render, you should always turn your wifi off.

Thank you so much. As soon as I turned wifi off and restarted Maya 2014 SP3 everything just render.

Any word on when maya 2014 will be able to run on Mavericks?
Posted by: Karim | 11/05/2013 at 03:46 AM
Maya 2014 Extension 1 SP1 & Maya 2014 SP3 have an activation hotfix. It should be able to run. We are still testing it.

I just tried installing Maya 2014 and then the SP3 and I'm still getting an activation issue. Do I need to do a complete uninstall, then re-install it? If so can someone help me on how I do this? Thanks!

You must delete Maya 'exactly' following the steps noted here:

Still waiting on a solution that lets me batch render in Maya 2013 on Mavericks. I didn't know about that problem and that is seriously affecting my work... I payed good money for that license and now I can't work. THANKS AUTODESK.

Maya 2014 SP3 and Maverick with batch rendering still crashes :(
I have a 12 core Mac Pro desktop

Are you able to log a case? Maya crashing while rendering covers a broad area. There are many ways to optimize a render to have the crash happen less often.

There are so many problems with Maya 2014 I can't list them all. Spending too much time trying to find a way to get it to work without force quitting. Wish I never upgraded to Maverick. I've logged many cases, sometimes it freezes just by picking a face! Need to work in Mental Ray to match animations that worked in 2011-2013. 2014 SP3 rendered about a dozen frames before quitting. Too many problems, too little time.

Maya SP3 helped with Maya. Maya is now up and running. How ever composite 2014 and Match mover will not boot on mavericks. I have on exception one of my towers it boots up fine on.. It is odd. only that machine thought. My lap top other towers. Nothing just a crash.
