3DS Max Family: Error Could not write value CoreFiles to key

If you are getting this error when installing 3DS Max or 3DS Max Design 2015 (point product) or from the Suite:

Could not write value CoreFiles to key \Products\7CE73B25638D01403046C342CBDE0201\Features. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
